All New Ford Everest

The end of the month July 2015, PT Ford Motor Indonesia invited Indonesian media to try direct the performance and resilience of the All New Ford Everest in Chiang Rai, Thailand, before officially marketed in the country. Before starting the journey, the Ford deliver product presentations, as well as testing purposes we will do. In the first stage, we would invite All New Everest is headed Canary Natural Resort with a distance of approximately 60 km.
Ford Everest 2.2L
On the first occasion, we got a chance to try the all-new Everest-engined 2.2-liter two-wheel. From outward appearances hardly seem significant difference with other variants, there are only a badge with the number 2.2L as a differentiator.
Armed with dimensions of 4882 x 1,862 x 1,837 mm, the new Everest appear more plump and higher than its predecessor, with a design that characterize the SUV tough. Look carefully, the design of the new Everest is more modern than the previous generation, with a large trapezoidal grille and front and bonnet are higher and the curve looks stocky, produce tougher aura. The design is a bit much resemble his brother, Ford New Ranger.
Go inside, the interior is impressive luxury, and airy. Ford offers a choice of two interior colors, dark colors and bright Flaxen Basalt. Both complement the luxury and demonstrate the high quality of the interior of the new Everest. Sitting in the driver's seat feels comfortable, fit, and with good visibility to the front so I could know the front end of the car.
Press the Start button and the machine lit up with a smooth car. I immediately realized that this new Everest offers a fairly good cabin silence. Among other things thanks to the use of soundproof material scattered throughout the interior as well as Active Noise Cancellation technology that uses three high-sensitivity microphones to ward off the engine sounds into the cabin.
DI low speeds, the steering feels quite heavy weights. However, when it runs this would support a more stable steering control. Noticeably faster steering response and precision, thus increasing confidence while riding a 7-passenger SUV big it dynamically. Moreover, All New Everest has now been equipped with EPAS (Electric Power Assist Steering) with Pull-Drift Compensation technology which adjusts the input of the driver and adapt to road conditions change.
More than 20 car convoy to the Canary Natural Resort. This initial stage is dominated urban street, so we were quite constant vehicle speed. After taking about 34 km, the group stopped at Doi Hang Subdistrict Municipality Office for break and exchange the driver and alternate with other participants.
Following from Doi Hang Subdistrict Municipality Office, we presented local street village with the condition hilly, winding, roads are not too wide, and the road surface is not friendly. When I encounter a sharp bend, I tried a little ability Everest without reducing speed and the result makes me smile because it exceeded my expectations.
Electronic Stability Control it works very well keep Everest remains on the lane I wanted, even when entering corners at speeds high enough or cornering too fast, Roll Stability Control and Curve Control with sensor detection will prevent the potential occurrence of understeer or oversteer by applying braking well as an abundance of torque reduction. Damping suspension also feels very solid, quite soft at the same time solid, feels comfortable when passing the road was friendly and damaged road potholes.
Ford Everest 3.2L
Upon arriving at Canary Natural Resort we were immediately treated off-road terrain to determine the actual Everest toughness as an SUV. In this session we used the car Everest 3.2 L four-wheel drive that has been equipped with Terrain Management System with a choice of modes Normal, Snow / Mud / Grass, Sand, and Rock. I use the first opportunity to sit in the passenger seat of the second row for heading off-road tracks. Being a passenger on the new Everest also feels comfortable with roomy seating position thanks to a chair that can be adjusted.
The first off-road challenges greet us, namely the ramp with a wet and slippery ground caused by heavy rain which flushed overnight. In this condition we use mode Mud / Snow / Grass to prioritize maintenance of traction on slippery surfaces. And in fact, the condition is not a problem for the new Everest having a 4x4, we can easily reach the top without any hindrance.
Our next challenge is required to cross the shallow river to the surface of the riverbed filled with small rocks. The new Everest fortunate to have the ability Water Wading up to a height of 800 mm and approach angle of 29 degrees. Matching with activating mode Mud / Snow / Grass or directly pressing the Electronic Locking Rear Differential to improve traction and prevent slippage at the rear wheels. The challenge we can also pass easily thanks to the features and technologies supporting off-road from the new Everest 3.2L.
In the off-road session, we also try to feature Hill Descent Control with down the road which has a cement surface. This feature automatically apply braking to maintain the current speed through the steep slope without having to step on the brake pedal. This feature can be combined with a cruise control so you can be through a steep slope with constant speed as desired.
After examining all the supporting features off-road and feel the greatness of the new four-wheel Everest in inhospitable terrain, we continued our journey to return to the Canary Natural Resort. We traveled a different route with the previous and this time was filled with wet slippery dirt road before finally meeting with asphalt road. Once again I can feel the greatness of the new Everest is equipped Torque on Demand which automatically transfers torque between front and rear wheels for maximum traction and control when needed.
Canary Natural Resort, we went back to the location of the inn and this time we pass through the freeway. Unfortunately we are not allowed to be separated from the convoy so it can not fully acceleration spur new Everest 3.2 L. However we had given little distance to feel the acceleration responsive and smart features Blind Spot Information System are reminded when there is another vehicle that is not caught in the rearview mirror, as well as the Lane Keeping System that keeps the car does not exit lane by reading the lane markings. If the exit lane, Lane Departure Warning will be warned by vibrating the steering wheel and if it stays out lane, Lane Keeping System will automatically restore the position of the car.
All variants of the new Everest is equipped with the latest SYNC2 infotainment center to support the entertainment during the journey, and also can be connected directly to your smart phone device. In addition, to ensure safety, the new Everest has been equipped with seven aribag

Testing of the new Everest one full day in Chiang Rai manages to present proof of reliability, toughness, and the comfort offered from the latest Everest. Armed with all these capabilities, the new Everest obviously touches a 7-passenger SUV segment that is currently available on the market. Impatient taste tried to direct this latest Everest in the country.
